PULSE Broward County raises large donations to benefit the American Heart Association. Every year they gather for a group photo of contributing members to signify their unity, as they come together for a philanthropic journey. They were kind enough to consider Quick Nickel Productions for such a project.
Not only were the people a joy to work with, but it gave me my real first chance in directing that many people at once. In addition to the complex social aspect, the technical specifications had to be met with a meticulous attention to detail. My assistant (shown below) and I researched many ways to achieve this mission. We managed photograph the entire committee (23 people shown above) in 38 minutes with one Alien Bee400 in a 48″ Westcott soft box on a mobile boom….. And I managed to thoroughly sweat through my clothes. ….soo embarrassing.
